Anyone familiar with the inner workings of a 2-in-1 Morse/Teleflex throttle assembly?

Quick update: applying a bit more force as suggested did indeed get it turning and it was soon out: The disengage pin slides in and out easily, so hopefully just a bit of cleanup and reassembly required. Might tap straight in to the casing or possibly fit some S/S helical coils. TBD.

Anyone familiar with the inner workings of a 2-in-1 Morse/Teleflex throttle assembly?

By the way, to dismantle the case I drilled out the 6 pillars that hold it together. Was this actually necessary? And what's the best way to reassemble? Through-bolt, or self-tapping into the pillar stubs? (sorry - I'm being greedy for advice, but you sound like you know what you're talking...

Anyone familiar with the inner workings of a 2-in-1 Morse/Teleflex throttle assembly?

Thanks, Rotrax. The other end of the pin is intact. So it looks like the shaft has seized. Application of heat to the flange to loosen?

Anyone familiar with the inner workings of a 2-in-1 Morse/Teleflex throttle assembly?

My 1988 Moody's throttle assembly has become stuck in gear. I disconnected it from its mount and the gearbox & cable are fine. The "disengage" pin springs back when depressed (but possibly not far enough) The levers all work correctly and there is no problem with the clips holding the cable to...

Anchor chain: How rusty is too rusty

Gosh! I'd forgotten how much the Forum loves an anchor thread.:D In case anyone's interested, I did call BGD and spoke to a very helpful gentleman and through discussion concluded that getting 15-20m of new 8mm chain and discarding the worst of the existing chain was probably a pragmatic way...

Anchor chain: How rusty is too rusty

Thanks, all. Lots to digest. Jonathan, I don't see an obviously 6mm-chain compatible Titan on the CMP site. (not sure what a "Bail" is in this context).

Anchor chain: How rusty is too rusty

Thanks, both. Reassuring, Mudisox. I'll give it a good brushing and make sure I inspect the individual links! I agree about the rust stains, fredrussell. Drifter's chainlocker drain does have a certain "patina" that would look more at home on a Port of London workboat than a pleasure yacht. I...

Anchor chain: How rusty is too rusty

Hi, all. I would welcome the opinion of some of our resident metallurgist/engineering experts. I have about 30m of 8mm chain of unknown but probably cheap origin. It's been on our Moody 31 since we bought her 10 years ago and I suspect some time before that, too. We anchor mostly in shallow...

    B and G Zeus3 questions

Tnx. Will have a stab. Progress on the coloured seabed, thanks to the link. It was just on regions in or adjacent to Portugal. The coloured seabed option is "hidden" in the extended part (scroll down) of the "more options" menu in the charts. Thanks for the pointer!

    B and G Zeus3 questions

Here is one Quick update. The "readonly problem" is caused because Link won't let you take control of any screen that has an active autopilot control menu. It was just a coincidence that we tried with ipad and android on different screens. An understandable constraint, but I was looking...

    B and G Zeus3 questions

Thanks, LD. Will try and update. Yes, re Autopilot. I will check about modes but we are in heading mode and that should have no problem. It has a separate WiFi controller and it's that we connect to (using the Link app) but we have to pick a screen to connect to and they all have the same name...

    B and G Zeus3 questions

Hi, all I am helping a friend set up some of the features of his Z3 system as we sail down to Gib. It's a 3-screen system on a very nice new (to him) Bavaria C45. The original supplier is long-since disconnected from the scene and although we have downloaded a copy of the rather delphic user...

Freddie Starr ate my inflatable! Is it repairable?

Thanks, all. Looks like the Ribstore kit is favourite. Shipping is a bit steep but still amounts to the same cost as Force4's PVC repair kit, which only has a single-part glue. Even if I manage to get it airtight I've still got to remove what I assume is rat piss congealed to a tar-like colour...

Freddie Starr ate my inflatable! Is it repairable?

Well, probably not Freddie: more likely to be the rats/rodents that nested there over winter. Is this repairable? Any recommendation on a product to use?

Fitting a wind vane to a V-tronix whip

Thanks, B. I went up and had a look at the whip yesterday. It's very "whippy" so I must admit I'm tempted to follow the advice of Hawk and replace the whole setup. I come back to my original point, though: you must have had the modified windvane to be able to put it on the whip without...
