We use a Redcrest as our regular tender, it's kept deflated and rolled up when not in use. I bought it 2nd hand over 20 years ago and it's still in very serviceable condition despite the regular inflation/deflation. I also have a Restart of similar vintage which is kept onboard in its bag and...
Yes I have done it, the vsr goes on the charge side and the 1,2,both,off switch on the load side. I eventually used separate switches but initially I wanted to remove the need to remember which battery was charging, the vsr was set to charge engine battery first then the domestic ones.
I had to do this on my C80, same problems with cards. What I did was to use the Navionics card itself, you can create a new directory/folder in the root of the Navionics card and put the update software there. Just don't change the Navionics folder as this will mess with the licence. Then delete...
I'm not onboard until Friday pm but I may be able to find info from the invoice, alternately I'm sure David at Alladins would have the info.
I'm still working on the best stowage, currently I run it down inline with the forward lower stay to keep it away from the mast but not to interfere with...
I have the Wichard setup on my Contessa's inner stay, it was done by Alladins Cave rigging at Deacons. I can measure the screw and stay size if it helps. Very pleased with the ease of use, mine is fitted to the bulkhead at the rear of the anchor locker via a u bolt and stainless steel chain...
I had a 503 for use on a swinging mooring, it needed a good wind to get anything out of it, not much use really. It did help a bit when out sailing but struggled to recharge batteries fully across a week. I switched to couple of 20w solar panels which produced much more energy.
I've been using a similar system as op's for about 10 years. New loo and pipes fitted two years ago, never used for solids, flush inlet with fresh water-no smell. Leave sea water in inlet- eggy pong. Op's idea works for me.
I used Interdeck on my previous boat with good success, I did 3 coats over 11 years. It did wear thin but looked great when redone.
Be careful using 2 pack paints and additives, my new (to me) boat has had the deck done with Awlgrip and non slip additive. Where the top of the surface has worn...
It's an EP solar tracer 1215rn 12/24v 10a, you'll find it on the Sunstore site at about £65. I use the two panels wired in parallel but I recently read that it may be even better if I wire them in series, less loss apparently.
I switched from wind to solar a couple of years ago and have found solar to be far better for me. I have two NASA 20w semi flexible panels linked via an MPPT contoller from Sunstore and that setup keeps a 140 A/h house and 85A/h start battery at about 14 -14.8v over an average week. I use a...
<Heads break because something smashes into it>
I had that happen, we were enjoying beating in some steep short chop crashing around a bit with the hatch closed and wash boards in. Had a shock when I slid open the hatch to see the heads just rolling around tethered by it's pipes. I always close...
I had 3 pairs in a year and got fedup of taking them back. My Dunlop yellow ones lasted for about 10 years before the rubber started to crack, the surface on the gill ones just disintegrated very quickly and cracked.
