    why do you need a Y junction ? I fitted mine straight on to the end of the manual pump pipe with 2X90 bends to step down into the bilge just like a strum box ..it works perfectly ! BTW: why does water flow better in a smooth pipe than a corrugated one ? for the same reason that air...

    all this kerfuffle about changing a halyard!!!!! doesnt anyone stitch loops in to the bitter end of halyards any more Takes about 3 mins per halyard when new, stitch loop through halyard end 2/3 times with whipping twine, make a short whipped end and lock off. To use just tie a light line...

    bilge pump outlet

    Its a lot easier to put the electric pump onto the end of your normal bilge line and discharge through the manual bilge pump ,....no extra holes and it works perfectly! and under the rail is the wrong place to put it ....you reduce the output by converting FLOW to LIFT ! <hr width=100% size=1>

    Perhaps you have boatless ......... ...but to use the anology of heaving to!... well for a start the headsail is REDUCED and BACKED not stalled, and also you are pointing UPWIND ! so that anology is useless as we are talking at the very least a broad reach ...and you cant back a headsail...
