that's quite a generalisation - I have both helm and bow remote sockets for my windlass remote, I've hardly ever used the bow. I have good vis of the chain from the helm, have a self locating bow roller for the anchor and the anchor locks in under the power of the windlass.
did exactly the same with mine when I first took delivery. The lock is held in place by the small bolt which has no head either side - you need to get some grips on it either side and undo - the lock then slides off.
