Having sold our Hunter 23 last autumn , I am now in the market for a dayboat as my First Mate has come ashore for a year or 2 (so she says) - am interested in the Hawk 20 but also like the Beneteau 21 or similar Jeanneau boat. Has anyone experience of either of these boats and would give advice?

I'm looking to buy a Hawk 20' and would be interested in hearing from any present (or past) owner how they sail and whether they hold their resale values at all. Not sure whether a decent outboard is necessary?

This is all very helpful. My Hunter 23 is diesel driven but I keep the outboard on a rail on the transom. The idea of buying 2 pieces of 12mm and epoxying really appeals! Spent last season re-epoxying the hull - hopefully this should be a simpler job!

Well - it's all done 5 coats of Gelshield 200 plus 2 coats of Micron Extra - total cost some £500 applied over 5 sunny days. With hindsight my 7M boat took about 1.8 litres of geshield per coat and I would have saved a lot if i back mixed each additional coat into the previous tin! Damn the...
