Sailing to Netherlands and Belgium 2022

Maybe not Roompotsluis, but at Roompot Marina. When we phoned Marechaussee, they asked if we wanted checking out or checking in. When the officers turned up, they were armed with both entry and exit stamps (as well as handcuffs and Glock !).

Sailing to Netherlands and Belgium 2022

We returned to UK yesterday via Roompotsluis. After a phone call to the Marechaussee in Vlissingen (+31-88 953 0410) on Wednesday afternoon, two officers came to Roompot Marina about a hour later and stamped passports. I believe we then had three days to actually depart. All very easy and...

    Can anyone identify the location?

The watercolour could well be based on New Cut, Ipswich. The width is about right, the trees are similar . . . and there is a chimney!

Crew to helm walkie talkies suggestions?

I've used Sena Expand Boom headsets at work where they worked really well. They are duplex, water resistant and were fairly comfortable on the ear. Currently available from Amazon. I wish I had a pair on the boat.

    Woodbridge tidemill

We were there last week. The two toilets at the back were open, but the showers closed.

    Historical whereizit.

I'm fairly sure it's the inner harbour Douglas, Isle of Man. In which case the 2nd photo is the right way around.

    Reefing line attachment to boom

Other than reducing the sail area, the reefing line's main function is to provide foot tension to flatten the mainsail. Once this is tight, leech tension is controlled with kicker and main sheet. To stop the boom dropping, the reefing pennant needs to be tied to the boom just aft of the cringle.

Unfortunately I think it is only a paper lead. The current race is to get North and be the first to reach the NE trades.

    Furuno GPS 33 & Raymarine ST100+

Yes I did mean 000-156-405. Sorry about that. It was incorrectly labeled on my boat wiring diagram. When connected to the GP-33, this cable does not supply power for the display. Power still needs to come from the red and black cores of the CAN bus cable. See pages 9-5 and S1 of the GP-33...
