Those seat backs on my Hunter 273 were screwed as per JimC post #2 and definitely not a 'keyhole' type of fitting
I removed them earlier this year and I agree, there was no visible sign of them having gone through the fabric
I refitted them using the same countersunk screws but with a washer to...
Almost anything might be suitable !
Watermouth Yacht Club's old wooden mast wiped out some time ago and we are looking for a replacement mast
Anyone scrapping a yacht or know of an insurance write off somewhere close to N Devon ?
Here's hoping ,.....

Hi Charles
I keep a 27' at Watermouth and don't have any issues getting in or out, however, you will need to use engine as there is a huge wind shadow from the prevailing westerlies
Also, be aware it can be quite 'lumpy' for a couple of hundred meters outside the harbour entrance for a couple...
Hi David
Glad you made it and found the natives friendly - I was the Hunter 273 who said hello
I might have misunderstood what you are saying but all the moorings have fore and aft bridles under the pick up buoy so there wouldn't have been a risk of swinging
Fridays & Sat nights the club is...
Hi Squeaky
I have also had problems trying to get information from PYI
I fitted a PSS seal last year which had a rubber insert acting as a 'reducer' so the bellows would fit the 42mm log
Unfortunately I was not aware of this and the insert was pushed inside the bellows when fitting it to the...
Credit where it's due - I ordered a Radice RMTA shaft seal around 1400 yesterday and received it today at 1100
Also, the guy I spoke to was extremely pleasant and helpful
A couple of years ago I ran mine for about 1 hour without burping it and became aware of an odd noise from the shaft, can't remember or quantify the noise - it just sounded different
When I realised what it was, I went below to burp it and the shaft was too hot too touch !! (Hunter 273, 1GM10...
I've had a 273 for 4 years on N Devon side of Bristol Channel and more than happy with it as I mostly sail single handed
I'm also biased because I don't think David Thomas ever designed a slow boat, but pm me if you want to discuss

I had same/similar problem this year with a 2.5hp Johnson
Started every time but cut out when opening throttle but ok if left on tick over for 2-3 minutes
Couldn't find a mixture adjustment screw on the carb so phoned the dealer who said this was very common - apparently they are set to run...
Google Earth pic shows Harbour; it dries to the outer line (approx) on Springs and the inner line on Neaps
You can anchor in the entrance but not a huge amount of room given swinging circles
There is some info on Watermouth Yacht club website

I'm on 2nd row behind the breakwater and float when tide reaches 7M (1.2M draft) so looks like you need an 8M tide to get inside the breakwater
Very sheltered but NW wind can bring in a bit of a swell
