No, we don't fly that close - unless we're in Choppers. In which case we Land On. As Nab has a Helipad. Just want the sign detail - if available.

Recommend a solent boat yard for my project boat

Phone Mike at Warsash Ferry - he has Alongsides and He'll also lift you out and put you to one side while you do your stuff. I've moored with him for 15 years. He's Hamble - but he's not Stupid Rich Kid Hamble - if you get my meaning. An all round nice, good guy. Mike; 07720 438402 He's just...

    Nab Tower Detail needed

Thanks for responding; Yep, Definitely: Line 1; "Keep Off" Absolutely - with the funny forward hand with the face behind graphic. Line 2; No Unauthorised Landing - yes it does look like that initially - and probably is - but what's the graphic? - a boat with a red line through it? Line 3...

    Nab Tower Detail needed

Hi, Random one here; I make scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator - and I'm currently creating the Nab Tower - in its present guise - a cylyndrical block of concrete summounted by various antennae, instruments, AIS, Fog Signal, etc. What I really need though is what the Warning Sign says on...

    Removing portholes?

WD40 to loosen the verdigris-caused bond and then Drift them out - you'll have a mess of adhesive (very ancient) beneath but as they're going back on after cleaning you won't have to dress the GRP just a rubbing back to get a nice flat surface for the fresh sealant to adhere to.

Epoxy onto oil soaked wood ?

Replace the wood first - forget epoxying - it won't adhere at all well to an oil contamonated surface. Your glass work will NOT be sound - a blister will open between the oiled wood and the mat and it will end up a bloody mess.

Non marine ply in salt water?

Build the 'prototype' out of cheap ply. Work on it to get correct size and shape. Then you have your pattern to make "the real thing" out of top quality marine ply

    Cleaning Anodised Aluminium Mast

Negative. It's a shade over 30' Really don't like the idea of either of those - the former being pretentious and the latter a little sad. Just want to get the mast back to Proctor gold-anodised. Thanks for ideas.

    Cleaning Anodised Aluminium Mast

Thanks for your reply. Money is no object. I'm really seeking advice on the practicalities of getting this done - not financial advice.

    Cleaning Anodised Aluminium Mast

I'm resurrecting this thread (after 16 years) as I'm considering what to do with my 43 year old gold anodised Proctor mast as we speak. Have the views changed on re-anodising/ painting. Mine was originally gold anodised. The gold has pretty much turned to grey. Ultimately, what I'd like to do -...
