I was on the inside of Ha`penny Pier when it happend, dialed 999 and moved boat quick. It was a small fishing boat, they had left the oven on. Another yacht moored behind called the VTS and a pilot boat was there long before the fire brigade. I left the pier at 05.00 and the burned boat was gone.

I agree with Dan. eastangliayachtsurveys@btinternet.com Dominic Buckley. I used him last year very thorough, good survey presentation, came on a cd too so was able to email to insurance co. I was very happy wiyh his service.

If your replacing the shaft, just cut the shaft with an small angle grinder. Its much easier to get off when out of the boat. I did the same last winter, wasted a lot of time trying to release the clamp in the boat. The shaft cut through in seconds with a thin metal cutting disc.
