There are tons of attractive young couples sharing the circumnavigations on youtube sailing a wide variety of yachts.
Away from that style of video I like those of Roger Barnes, who does very well produced dinghy cruising videos.
Roger Barnes
There are details on his website but he's got a unusual approach to monetizing his sailing videos
As I recall there were posters on this forum who thought trying to make money by producing videos of your sailing was a threshold that shouldn't be crossed.
If you are considering exploring the Med or Caribbean I'd spend some time / money chartering in those locations. You'll get to dip your toe in the water about what its like to sail and live on boat without any long term commitment. I'd considering it short term renting of the lifestyle.
During lockdown I’ve been whiling away the time watching dinghy cruising videos on YouTube. The formula for many of these is a chap quickly launches and rigs a large dinghy, has a leisurely sale in an estuary where larger yachts can’t go, spends a relaxing night in a cockpit tent, gets woken...

Get an Astus 20.2 trimaran. The come in at 400Kgs and are going to be a hell of a lot quicker than anything else in this thread.
Quite fancy getting one myself but I'd prefer to hear the feedback from a guinea pig first!
I learnt at a very, very similar place and am not sure the course are the problem. You get a nice introduction, do the courses then all there's left to do at the reservoir is take part in the races. As you've only just started to learn you get horribly in the way of the competitive regulars...
At most events you pay more for food and drink than you would elsewhere. What would you consider the average price for a pint of Guinness in London? I'd expect to get stung for about £4 around canary wharf.
