Well-said Ken - you've hit the nail on the head. I've since had an exchange of emails with Simon Jinks who, whilst very pleasant and helpful, can't see why there's any problem compared to the previous charts/tables.
People dealing with things which are a) outside of their personal experience...
You're right about (some of ) Activity's yachts not being as new as Sunsail's, but the one's I've sailed (3) have all been very well-maintained and considerably cheaper than Sunsail.
Also, being a smaller company I found them very flexible, with tailor-made instruction/holiday lengths to suit.
Can highly recommend Activity Yachting. Have been with them twice (both times early season) and very good value for money. Based in Murter.
Loved Croatia and great sailing but marinas, town quay moorings etc. VERY expensive. £30 per night for 30 footer in marina!
Krck waterfalls are amazing...

I'm firmly of the view that TZ manipulation is essential to what we do on the seas; that the difficulties Mrs MJ2 and her classmates are having is an issue of instructor teaching skills, and remind everyone that a whole lot of RYA Instructors have little know-how beyond their own RYA...
Well, I've sent an email to the RYA commenting that in my opinion the new time zones make the exams overly complicated and detract from the core issues. I doubt they'll take any notice but at least I feel better!
Thank goodness - so it's not just me then!
I agree that being time-zone aware is vital, especially if you sail between England and France, but I don't think there are many people (with the possible exception of Ellen MacCarthur and whoever that French chap is who's just smashed her record!) who...
I am doing the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory course at a local college, having previously done Day Skipper (both bits) and am rapidly reaching screaming point! The new RYA training charts 3 and 4 have 3 time zones. The fictitious almanac pages give times as UT and -0100, the latter in...
Assuming he said "il est un grand", it actually means he's a grown up or an adult, but some of the less accurate translations are a lot more interesting!
I am a swmbo and have never (yet!) been seasick but I do suffer from land sickness. I've been off the boat for over 24 hours now and this screen keeps swaying about - and no, I've not been at the cooking sherry!
On a much more mundane level, we keep our boat in the Netherlands (about 4 hours away by ferry or tunnel and car) and use it far more than we ever did when it was 45 minutes up the road!
It used to be all too tempting not to bother if the forecast was bad, tides were wrong etc., whereas now...
Nowhere will be cheap but I would definitely recommend talking to Activity Yachting (for Croatia) and Sapphire Yachting (for the Sporades). Activity are a small and therefore flexible company with both their own boats and local owners' boats which they hire in. Sapphire are also a small...
