    Connecting to old Raymarine instrumentation

On my boat I have the VelaNavega NMEA2 converter, Nmea2Wifi, which takes the NMEA data from my Ray ST60 network and makes it available on WiFi for Navionics running on my iPad and Android

Linking depth data to Navionics on a tablet

I have and can recommend the Vela Navega NMEA2 WiFi which takes NMEA and Seatalk 1 data and transmits it on WiFi to Navionics on iPad and Android on my boat. You can buy a kit (solder it yourself) for €32. Have a look at the website SeaTalk1 Bus

Power to an onboard Rasberry PI (as used for nav)

I use a Pi4 running Navionics on Android 11. The display ( which replaced a Raymarine C120) is a Beetronics 10" touchscreen which runs on 12vDC and has a USB output which powers the Pi. NMEA0183 and AIS data feeds to the Pi via onboard wifi.

Lifting a Volvo Penta D2-55 just enough...

This is a job I have to do with my D2-40 in the not too distant future, but my thoughts are to use a couple of inflatable fenders placed between the engine sump and the bottom of the boat.

    Chart Plotter to run Navionics

This year I replaced my non functioning Raymarine C120 with a Beetronics 15.6" monitor and a Raspberry Pi4 running Navionics, JK BMS, Victron and Windy Apps on Android 11 ( Konstakang Lineage 18.1), . It gets NMEA data via my onboard router and a Digital Yacht WLN20. The MFD is below at the...

    Which plotter?

MFD Replacement I had a 2007 installed 12” Raymarine C120 at our chart table which became unreliable. Because I couldn’t rely on the C120, I navigated using the Navionics app running on a tablet linked via the on board WiFi to the NMEA data from the installed ST60 instruments, GPS and AIS. I...

    MFD Replacement, Android and RPi

We have a 2007 installed 12” Raymarine C120 at our chart table which is now unreliable. That works well, but I would like to replace...

Hi Greg. Thanks for the link to the battery box. I've checked through the alternator and charger settings. It all adds up. Thanks again for your great write up.

    Lithium 304Ah Build

Great idea, but having made a cockpit table and dinghy seat with foam, epoxy and Carbon Fibre, I have exhausted my patience with vacuum bagging. I think I'll make my battery box from 5mm ply unless anyone can point me to a box that will take four of the 280aH EVE cells with room for the...
