After stripping my osmotic rudder, I need to re-coat it. Having seen the price of Blakes SFE200, I rang Scott Bader for their equivalent. They suggested Seasafe which is a fraction of the cost of SFE200. Has anyone any experience of Seasafe?
It's interesting what you say about going astern; with the prop behind the rudder, there should be lots of water flowing over the rudder. Shouldn't this improve handling astern?
I am considering the purchase of a Marieholm 32 but there is one slight worry : the prop is aft of the rudder.
What effect would this configuration have on the handling?
There's a rumour going round the Caribbean that on returning to the UK in one's yacht after more than 3 years away, VAT is payable. Even on a VAT-paid, UK registered boat!
Is there any truth in the rumour?
I have recently replaced my alternator and the new one is "self-exciting". The new one requires 24v at the +ve terminal on the alternator to self-excite; how can I connect it to charge 2 battery banks? Less importantly, how can I connect my ignition light?
