How do I change the impeller (VolvoPenta)?

Lubricating the new one with washing up liquid before installing helps ease it into place. Creates a few bubbles at the exhaust, but soon disperses.

    Griffon mainsheet traveller

Found it, http://www.westerly-yachts.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=65 can tell from a photo I have it's an RWO fitting, and the page refers to centaurs, griffons. Happily a fraction of the price of the alternative IYE stop.

Thats great, thanks for the contacts, very much appreciated. I think you are right about pinning in the middle of track, at least for now. I might have to rig something temporary as I'm moving the boat next thursday onwards if the weather is ok. I'll contact Caroline tomorrow and see if she...

    Griffon mainsheet traveller

Thanks Looks like I need to add position stops, makes me wonder why they aren't already there when rest of the gear looks well maintained. It's not a very long traveller, so I guess it's not really going to make much difference really. Thanks for the advice.

    Griffon mainsheet traveller

The traveller on the boat I've recently bought doesn't seem to have any means to lock it in position, although there are holes in the track to accept a pin of some sort I assume. Does anyone know how this is supposed to be set up? It all looks like the original parts, so I assume I'm missing...

Handheld GPS / Plotter advice pls

New etrex I've had my etrex vista for about 6 years. Used it on the boat, on the mountain bike and in the car (UK and Europe). Neat small unit that can be operated with one hand, and the screen size is only marginally smaller than the rest of the range which are quite bulky and unsuitable for...

    Dylan grapples with the beast

Great effort, there's not many people about who would take that on. Good luck getting the new mounts in place. It will be ok!

Best music for a stormy night passage.

Mumford & Son - little lion man Clash - white man @ hammersmith palais Johnny Cash - One, repeated at least 5 times Jimi H, voodoo chile, for the rockers Nirvana - smells like teen spirit Stones - Exile on Mainstreet, all of it, or until you can't bear any more Bob Dylan - obviously 5 believers...

    Small Outboard Engine

Should have posted here, sorry, hadn't seen this thread. Here is link for ease... http://www.powerboatingtoday.com/used-outboard-motors-for-sale/ I was going for the Honda until I saw the figures in the review and decided I'd prefer the Suzuki, perhaps a bit of 'brand loyalty' going on as...

Handling gusts when sailing on a broad reach?

Sounds like the safest, but perhaps not the most comfortable way of dealing with it is to do what you did, it's happened to everyone. Having sailed with similar crew, and whatever the solution, I'd say it's pretty important to apologise, explain the problem and promptly reef or drop the the...

    Interesting outboard review

http://www.powerboatingtoday.com/used-outboard-motors-for-sale/ Looks like the Suzuki 2.5 for me. Had one before but foolishly sold it, long story. Worked well, although awkward to stow and like most things, needed to be warm before it would get going.
