    Whitlock Cobra 5R delux

When I had a similar problem after a lot of messing around and a lot of money I was working below the pedestal and used the trailing arm to pull myself towards the rudder. The trailing arm moved slightly, I noticed the 2 track rod ends moved a tiny amount. The replacement parts from Lewmar were...

    Solé diesel inboards

Beta have an exceptional agent/engineer in Penryn, he is good with everything you need from a local resource. Simon Caddy very helpful. Had my Beta 10 plus years and been very pleased although I do talk to her and treat her to new oil and filters every year.

Difficulty engaging forward gear - Beta 30

Just a thought, if engine hours are low perhaps problem is with beds and engine movement through either not tightened down properly or propeller moving engine forward. Do gears engage positively when engine is off

    Newquay Radiators

I’ve used them, few years back they rebuilt a swimming pool boiler heat exchanger for me, in truth they had to remake the entire thing, they stuck to their original quote that was a fraction of new price, were easy to deal with and rang me to check everything was ok. The exchanger was a big bit...

Hi, not my home waters but I spent a while at Saltash SC so I have a passing knowledge of the area. I would choose your leaving time with care the tides all the way out to the Sound can be interesting, I would leave on an ebb tide no point pushing against a strong tide, there is nothing of...

    Berthing disasters we have witnessed

The worst I saw was also probably a very unlucky one , I was standing on Falmouth Marina fuelling pontoon waiting for water taxi, anyone who knows Penryn river will know it is deceptively strong particularly at half tide ebb. Husband and wife came down from Penryn, pretty less than 30ft wooden...

Whitlock Cobra 4 - Steering "Flutter"

Another thought, to cheaply and quickly test your thought about worn key, with centre punch put 3 or 4 dimples in key, not too deep to temporarily take up wear if it works then you know you’re right

Whitlock Cobra 4 - Steering "Flutter"

Not doubting your interpretation of fault, on my 362 exactly the same set up I eventually traced the fault to lots of small problems Worst was slightly worn trackrod ends on trailing link, if you discover this fault don’t buy replacements from lewmar instead take originals to motor factors and...
