I have a sneeky suspicion that the article may have been produced somewhere several thousand miles west of the UK if you get my drift .
Just something to remember, Don't always believe what you read on the net, some people still publish papers claiming that the earth is flat!!!
I would be really careful with that stuff, make sure that all you hoses and seals in the fuel lines will not be softened or destroyed. Acetone is as you know a great solvent and as such will also break down the thin film of oil used in most engines for upper cylinder lubrication possibly...
What type of hull does the mayland 18 have? from memory I have a feeling its a semi-displacement job although I might be wrong.
Can you trim the engine in to push the nose down a tad? or move some weight forward.
Either way it sounds like you might be pushing it with that engine.
Antifould this weekend and then the good ship Ballena should be back in the water on Monday. Is this a new project you are working on? if so what is it and do you have any pics?

Working on the good ship Ballena today, got the trim cylinder refitted, and decided to take the props off so that I could get at the leg drain (VP SXDP Drive). I personally have not removed the props for 3 years, to my astonishment I discovered around 20 prawns stuck up the exhaust behind the...
I'm rushing of to get me one of those harpoon thingys just incase!!!!!!
Come on guys it only telly amd SWMBO reckons the nails and clothes are more important than some boat ona river, now if it were in the open sea then that would be different. Low budget TV probably prevents them from opening...
