We left Portsmouth 2 years ago on board Moonlight, our Vancouver 36 and have been exploring the Caribbean and Bahamas for the past 18 months (as far south as Grenada).
Moonlight is currently on the hard in Marsh Harbour in the Abacos (NW Bahamas) - which took a direct hit from hurricane Irene...
book swap found!
Thanks for the replies, the book swap in the bar on pigeon island is very good (and the free wifi is a bonus) and we also found a bookswap in the pub at the visitor centre on the other side of the island.
SueM - I have sent you a PM.
Happy sailing all :-)
I met a French chap called Robert Martin in Tobago Cays last year who said he has been living in the Caribbean for 7 years, funded by selling his paintings.
He pootles around the anchorages in his dinghy with a portfolio of paintings introducing himself to people on the anchored boats.
We keep our Vancouver 36 in Haslar Marina (Gosport) and every now and then over the past year we have found chocolate digestive biscuits hidden under the windlass cover and tucked into the sail cover at the end of the boom (one of which annoying went mouldy and stained our brand new mainsail!)...
Thanks for the info, I am edging towards a Blackberry, do you know which networks do the global roaming packages with separate data as I can't find anything about this on the network websites, and every shop I've tried has been completely useless!
We are due to set off in June, heading for the Caribbean via the usual route + possibly the Cape Verde Islands, and there's a possibility we may go through Panama to the Pacific (but as this is my first Atlantic Crossing, not sure if I will have had enough by then!).
I'm trying to work out what...
Thanks for all the suggestions, some great ones I'll hunt down!
Adaero - will give you a shout when we get to the Canaries for book swappage - thanks for the offer!
Our plan is (as suggested above!), a potter down the coast of spain, portugal, madeira and the canaries, and currently pondering...
We're due to set off at the end of June, heading for the Caribbean and need to stock up on paperbacks for the crossing.
What are your 'must read' favourite books???

Are there any other 'Moon' boats out there?
We met a really nice chap on a big powerboat in Cowes recently which I think was a Moondance.
Any other Moons?
Moonriver maybe? Moonwalk? Blue Moon?
Maybe we could create a Moon club
We sail on Moonlight - a Vancouver 36...
