I've noticed a few of these on smaller sportsboats in our marina over the last couple of years and saw one in action today. The boat came close to where we were anchored and deployed the "anchor". The boat never moved from the position apart from the bow turning into the wind. It was very calm today yet I observed the motor engaging frequently to keep in position. I'm curious if anyone has any experience of these? Is there a size/weight limit of boat on which they can be used? Would they hold position in say force 3/4 and how much power would they consume? Idle curiosity mind you. I've no intention of investing.
