A neat little film. New to me, though I've been to Texel several times. I have never cycled to the lighthouse, sadly. I think I got side-tracked to the brewery.

Sailing around the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, one comes across many reminders of local wartime tragedies, small and large, in memorials and museums, and I always find them fascinating, if macabre.

St Valery en Caux. Lovely place. It is salutary to look down and see the half of the village that Rommel flattened. I bought some superb Neufchâtel cheese there from a young man in a food market. Normally a bit salty and dull, this was just wonderful.
