Get a taxi and visit Upnor ,just on the other side of the river, via the tunnel, there are two good pubs .The Ship, and another 50 yes away, the name escapes me, on a Sunday about 2pm you could pop into USC which sits between the two pubs. Pint of spitfire £2.

Pub is called the The Pier.
You also have Medway Yacht Club a little further down the road.

Really good meals in Medway Yacht club, bit pricey though, open 24/7

H,mm not sure we agree there............
and the price of a pint at any boat club will be considerably below any of the pubs mentioned !
As for opening hours,think you will find MYC is...
Weds eves
Friday eves
Sat from midday
Not sure about hours on Sundays but prob extended lunch opening.

I used to work at Lloyd's which is the waterfront offices by the South entrance of the dockyard. In the grounds of the offices at the Upstream end was the Command House which was leased from Lloyd's for a barrel of beer a year. In my day it was a pretty good pub in an excellent situation. No doubt it has gone through many refurbishments since then but has to be worth a look. I'm sure someone with more recent knowledge can say what it's like now.

Good question.
Have couple of boaty neighbours with pooches.... will ask what the situation is.
From memory,hounds normally seen waiting for their owners to eventually emerge from pubs and clubs.Most do have bowl of water outside however.
Our cat has been known to follow us down to one of the pubs and wait outside. Very patient things cats.

The ship and trades at Chatham will allow dogs outside, and food is also served outside .

The Ship and the The Pier in Lower Upnor have outside tables,esp the Pier which has a large number of tables in front of pub.
The Ship has two or three more or less on the pavement.Both have river views with added mud dependant on tide
Upper Upnor has the Tudor Rose with couple of trestle tables, the Kings Head which is more resturanty, has couple of benches out front with large garden out back.
Will report back on doggie welcomes later.

The Robin Hood in Chatham apparently let dogs in, anyone know it. Most restaurants around the marina have outside seating & allow dogs.

There are two Italian franchises "Zippers" and Villagio both just round the corner from marina.Zippers tiny bit more upmarket.
Have been in both few times over the years,you get exactly what you would expect from a chain resturant.Not exactly cheap but clean,with polite service.
Even in winter Zippers does fill up quickly,reserve your table asap.
Warning,wrap up warm, the short walk from the marina gate to the warmth of the resturant,exposed to the river wind can resemble an expedition to the North Pole.
If all else fails the "all-you-can-eat" chinese provides a fall back.
Go and see a cross section of the Medway Towns go up for seconds and thirds and wonder at just how much food some people can get on a single plate.
Or get cab and come across to The Pier in Upnor.

Not sure if you mad it to the Gurkhas Brother but it's our local for a curry (about 6 miles away but worth the drive)
It is one of the top voted restaurants in the area. Opposite the new bus station in Chatham.

If you mean the clever con where gullible people are persuaded that some dreadful tasting muck the colour of dishwater with lumps in,cleverly marketed as being produced by two old boys with beards in a shed but actually stewed in some vast stainless refinary in Birmingham......NO.
The two old boys sold out years ago to Interbrew,laughing all the way to the bank.
