The Gingerman: It's a long way from Brighton Marina, Hove (actually). One of the best restaurants in Brighton or Hove. If you want to eat there at the weekend you'll need to book at least 2 weeks in advance. It's worth the wait.
One Paston Place: Very expensive, situated in Kemptown and from what I've heard not worth the money.
Hotel Du Vin: Food good, wine expensive though superb and a great atmosphere. Not cheap.

Agree with BillMc re Hotel du Vin - excellent;
heard same re 1 Paston Place.
We also like the French place- forget name-at marina, as well as Potters at Marina.
Kemptown Brasserie on St George's Rd - inexpensive, but good and non-smoking except at bar.

Also try NOU NOU the north african restaurant a bit further on from the Kemp Town Brasserie. Great food and not too expensive. There are plenty of indifferent restaurants in the marina.

La Forchette in Hove is jolly good, as is The Saint in James Street Kemp Town. Both expensive and sometimes off service. There is a new fish v good restaurant in the Old Laines, does not take bookings but food is good.
