Any reason why some engines have MARINER printed like that but others (like one of mine)have it with the NE joined together?
Trying to get a trim solenoid but can't so is it import or something? Back left mariner 60.

Somewhere all the decals are illustrated. Sorry I dont have a link but I think you will find that the joined NE was used in the mid 1970s to mid1990s
Firstly on a dark grey background and then on a light grey background

A good place to ask would be the Mercury/ Mariner board of the iBoats forum

You can identify the year etc from the serial number. You should be able to find the correct part with the aid of the serial number and/or the year

Year identifier: http://download.brunswick-marine.com/download/preparesearch?mod=17&lang=EN

Parts lists: http://www.boats.net/

.

Good stuff on the Practicalboating forum???

Yes I think so but are you sure the item in your photo is anything to do with the power trim.

Are you sure that's not the voltage regulator ??

Not sure what it is.Local engineer says relay, some mariner dealer in NY says solenoid but it is power trim as local engineer said bypass the box and put 12v to the thicker blue and green wires which raised the engine.I know i could take it to someone but that box is £130&vat plus labour and all i'm doing is selling the boat so minimum cost really.
