Do the poor fish get chopped up....

....as we go along in our boats with the props propping? Is it worse if the prop faces forward or what?

Isn't that why the props are made with have holes in ( between each blade) so the fish can dive through quickly , not sure if 3 blade or 4 blade is best, more holes / chances in the 4 blade so must be better for smaller fish of course but bigger holes in a 3 for the fat ones.

It always concerns me about the crabs when dropping anchor, I try to lower it gently the last few feet, I wonder which designs are most fish/crab friendly .

So you buggers with two engines are killing more that us with the one engine! Shame on you! ;)

Mine have massive holes in for the fish to dart through

Anyway other factors come into play , mine are on shafts which are environment friendly creating twin mini ecco systems (mobile reefs) all of their own.

Compare that with the environmental impact of a Volvo Penta DPH steering ram ;)

I only have the one shaft so really, you are better for the eco system than me.....Damn! ;)

I have a petrol V8 with the exhaust coming through the prop under the water so it makes lots of noise under there to let the fish know I am coming up fast.. :)

It's the new age electric motors that will be the worst for the fish.. Silent killers they are!! I think they should be banned.. ;)

Yep, we need more V8s :)

Inland waterways association need to read this. All speed limits should be abolished as the faster we go, the earlier the fish can move out the way. The huge wake will also push the fish to the sides over the river out of harms way. Thru transom exhausts could also be mandatory for the birds to ensure we don't hurt them too. :D

So I have Duo Props which not only limit the gap for fish to dart through, but also necessitate the need for a quick change of direction on the part of the fish. Couple that with the fact that we have twin engines, a bow Delta anchor and a secondary Fortress anchor and we use a bridal and dump lots of chain on the sea bed which then gets dragged around as we are a MOBO so move loads in the wind.

On top of this we have a dink with an outboard with no prop guard!!!!!!!!!!!

Does this make me a serial fish killer??
