Hi Merlin, thanks for the details, just awaiting a couple more quotes, but still leaning towards Z Spars, the vang was included in the quote, so hadn't forget that.

I too have had good service from Z spars and they are my source of choice when it comes to standing rigging. My only query with a mast would be the section used. The Z spars mast they quoted for my boat was way lighter than the Selden specified one and that can only be through thinner lighter sections.

Finish of z-spars masts isn't great the castings are pretty rough, definitely agree with the tangs comment from earlier although their stemballs are ok. Other than that the masts are really pretty good, you will find that you mast is much better than the ones fitted to production boats as builders really hammer them down on price and quality suffers. I don't think much of the wire and rope they provide (or that of most new production boats) so would be worth getting it rigged by reputable outfit out there and insist on wire made by Kos in Germany. Also don't like the lack of topping lift fitting on their booms.

I know that sounded pretty negative but i would have no problem fitting one on my boat although i would upgrade basic spec, even with this they are great value

If I were Zspars I would be well pleased to read this thread, and rightly so, I found them very good, responsive to the customer, far more so than the dealer that was supposed to act as a customer interface until I found he did nothing.

I trust the OP will point them to it....

I bought a 13m mast and rigging from them and the service was very good indeed.The shipping costs to the Algarve were very reasonable as the mast came in two sections.The only complaint would be that a few of the screws that held the two sections together didn't sit square but since there were so many of them it was not really a problem.
