14 1/2 hours berth to berth.
Almost exactly 12 hours from Roompot sluice to Southwold.
A record for this 34' in absolutely perfect conditions.
Spinny up until an hour before sunset and a two sail reach to finish.

Funny thing was Swmbo left us at zerikzee with daughter and dog to catch the ferry back via the hoek.
She arrived home 20 minutes before we tied up at Southwold.

Another superb couple of weeks with the cloggies and this time with the full family plus large dog, who all loved it.
Happy bunny.

Back to work on Friday,
Not so happy bunny.........

Yes it was a great crossing, somewhat better than the 15 hour slog on a close reach into 30knts we had going over!

Hi Rascal, great to meet you in Willemstad, hope you have a pleasant crossing back to Blighty.
Worzel says hi

We also had a good trip back from Ostend to the Deben entrance a few weeks ago - 12hrs total, then had to wait a couple of hours to get into the river!

1 of our best / nicest was in our previous boat Co32. Spi hoisted outside the Pr Hd & handed as we approached Ramsholt. Would have to check the log to get the time / date.A sparkling day with real lunch in the cockpit served with red wine

My quickest crossing to ostend from bradwell was in a Stella - 13.5 hours & i cannot seem get near that in my Hanse as conditions never right.
My longest , ostend to burnham, in my first Stella -30 hours inc 4.5 hours hove too in big seas & f9 just south ofthe kentish knock
I am writting this sitting in ostend on my 66 th visit here but it is those 2 trips that i will always remember
12 hours for the op's trip is absolutely flying & must have been fantastic fun. I shall be in zirikzee in september when the dutch hols finish so hopfully a bit of room for berthing

That sounds like a great passage that you will remember.
Much better than my 10 hrs Stangate Creek to Burnham yesterday. The Swin in a northeasterly is not a fun place.

I remember a similar trip in the early nineties on my GK29, and standing in the shower at the Colne YC the next morning trying to wash the salt off, banging my head against the wall and asking myself why on earth we do it!
