Does anyone know if their is an official charge for berthing in Zakinthos Town? I've heard that power & water are chargeable, but there's also a chap who helps with lines & try's to get people to pay but has no authority.

Yes your are right , we always told him we will deal with the PP , last time he sew us he just walked pass us there is also sign up or At less was saying you don't have to deal with an agent .

On the other hand he does save you walking right down to the other end of the harbour to the PP office and all the ensuing frustration it entails. Sometimes in 35 degrees it seems like a good idea.

We have never paid there , and yes the water is por quality , or it was the only time we filled up there

We arrived in Zakynthos yesterday.
The chap who takes lines charged us €17 (11-12m band) for 2 nights excl power & water. Not sure of his status, but he did give us an official looking receipt. I suspect if we'd challenged him he'd have gone away, but hey-ho.
