Well it was all go for z1ppy getting back on the water today. After watching the boat lifted - well I did - z1ppy had to walk away - she went in the water at Universal and following some minor engine adjustments it was off into the Solent for some sea trialing.

A little video was shot and a few stills. I have to say she is awesome and after running the engines up in stages just to check all was well I did open her up a bit! You can feel the acceleration push you back into the seat. z1ppy had rather a big grin on his face and declared that it was the best toy he had ever bought.

So, z1ppy - what's the blue masking tape for in a V shape on the sbd side.

and is there any antifoul left on.........

looks fab - disappointed I missed a whizz yesterday :(

I notice there is a big grin at 800 revs and the look is rather more contemplative in the planing shot :)

What a day!

Indeed I did walk away when the boat was in the air on the pretext of changing my sea start cover but frankly I can't stand seeing any boat in the air, let alone my new one!

Few teething problems but we got away. Lots of boat in front of the helm for sure!

Wound her up as we rounded hamble south cardinal 1k, 1.5k, 2k... 2.5k and we are 36 kts...

Push the throttles forward from this point and are pinned to the seat. 3.5k and 53 kts. Running very wet today, no ability to trim drives ( fully in) so plenty more speed there to be had.

Simply astonishing!!! My grin is massive!!! I have never been in a boat with so much grunt
and grip!!

Thank you David and the others out today. Much appreciated!

Z1ppy,

Brilliant news, glade all ok and by looks of it you are now safe & sound in mercury. Must be a strange feeling to have a boat with that much grunt.. I dare easy to get used to...

Will wonder over tomorrow with shore power meter cable in hand to see if you r there, or out playing!

I was in the office on Friday morning looking out my window and she was in her usual place on the hard, went out for a few hours, came back and she was gone ! I used to like staring out the window looking at that Hunton wondering what it would be like to go for a blast, and now she is gone, what I am I going to look at now ? :-(

Ok,

so a few teething problems are being sorted ready for more sea trials.

no trim on the starboard engine leg. (relay replaced and working fine)

Starboard engine sticking in gear or engine cutting out when engaging reverse. (replaced
gear selector cable which was sticking.) just moved the boat and must have gone neutral - reverse - neutral - forward 50 times and no issue. watch this space.

Fresh water system appears to be coming clearer but still some flushing and chemicals to go. (must have flushed over 1000L of water this weekend just gone so fingers crossed!)
