I don't know, but I believe that to comply with BSS for inland waterways, a boat has to have a holding tank, and any sea toilet cocks blocked off. Also true for the Norfolk Broads, I suspect.

I'm not aware of any legislation, impending or proposed, that would make the fitting of holding tanks compulsory, though I suspect it's only a matter of time.....

Places like Island Harbour Marina, with access through locks at certain states of the tide, take a dim view of the use of sea toilets, I believe. Not an issue for us - at present - because we're still at the porta-potti "bucket and chuck it" stage /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Having seen a fender burst during a heavy arrival (not ours!), the thought of a fender stuffed with sewage beggars description.
