Wanted to check my mooring on Tuesday before putting my boat in yesterday. Got to the club, sorted out my dinghy, rowlocks and oars, took my Seagull from the outboard shed. Down to the water with the lot to launch.

Tried the Seagull - seized. Rowed out and checked my mooring fortunately the winds were very light. Took my dinghy around so that I could tow it out when my boat was launched. On Tuesday night took out the spark plug gave it a good spray with WD40. and put a spanner on the nut on the top and managed to get the whole thing turning. By this time the dinghy was on the mud so I couldn't test the engine.

Next day needed to start the Seagull to recover another person's [who was launching as well] dinghy that had come adrift. The trusty old Seagull started on the third attempt still on the 10:1 fuel that I had mixed this time last year.

Just love my Seagull.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I tried selling a Seagull on the forum, all goes round and makes sparks etc, Even at £40 not a single sniff of interest.
Either everyone who claims to love them already has a collection of them mouldering in his shed or, they are a bit like old British motorycles ,
and wooden yachts, lovely to look at but best owned by other people ! :)

I was interested in your Seagull, but couldn't say when I would be near B'Sea to collect.....

I have two 2hp Johnsons mouldering in the shed which don't like starting and one is missing its starter cord and the other its propeller. The Seagull just needs a spray of WD40 and off she goes. Maybe at the £31 it cost me it was the only reliable one on Ebay that year - about 6 years ago. Of course not much use I only get through 2L of fuel and 200ml of oil each year, I don't know what that is in miles or hours.
