Dear All,

A dream for many years has been to achieve the point of being able to own ones own Cruise Boat. Having almost achieved that point in time the ultimate dream is to Cruise the Mediterranean from the East Coast of Spain through Southern France, the Balearics, Italy, Greece and so on.

To experience this has been a very long term goal. So many of you have been so wonderful sharing your knowledge regarding craft. I wonder if you would be kind enough sharing your Cruise experiences. Places of interest, good Marinas and ports even restaurants en route that deserve a visit :).

This wouldn't be a one time trip but a gradual experience thus any routes that have proved exciting would be amazing to hear about. Both good and bad experiences a plus. I am sure this thread would prove useful to many who dream of a Cruise of a life time aboard their own craft.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read let alone sharing any of your experiences :) .

That is amazing, thank you both so very kindly for those links. I will be spending some serious time studying them. Looking at your Boats you certainly Cruised the Med in Luxury and Style, lucky you.

its ok to like her style, but the boat in my reports (exepty the last one) is our Karnic, she's is for sure not luxury, as she's only 28ft,
it's not the boat in my avatar

but even with such a small boat, the fun and enjoyment was nevertheless outstanding and gave us some livetime memory's.

Dear Bart,

Due to the costs of Fuel Now days and other challenges we too are weighing up the options of a smaller Boat for the Med Adventures but the dream of something a little more special is there too. I am sure your Karnic was a wonderful experience :) and has a very special place in your Heart. Some of the best days of my life were spent Topper sailing and Kayaking, just having fun on the Water brings something special to the Heart.

I admire your passion and dedication to ultimately achieving your dream. The Boat on your Bass Yachting site ' Blue Angel ' looks truly gorgeous, I love the name too. Both yourself and Jfm have achieved your dreams and that is so Heart warming to see.

Be it a smaller Boat initially to find our Legs, so we can both attain our Skipper qualifications+ and have some fun Diving and Sight seeing along the way would be a fantastic achievement. Part of the dream will then have been realised :). The Dream boat a goal but whatever happens a Boat and some fun on the Med is the plan :).

Thank you so much for taking the time. Yes we both love diving ( No silly comments Thank you lol ). Louise is going to have to do her IDC refreshers so she can Instruct again. As for me I am a Novice in comparison to her but I am the Marine biologist of the two, so yes a real passion.

Lou will be able to help me up the ladder so to speak but yes we do both plan on some diving along each of our trips. So any references to great Dive spots around the Med are definately appreciated :). All my equipment is out of test, although we did invest in some new Wetsuits recently. Our cylinders are still great but I need a new DV, my old Stab jacket needs replacing too. So definately some new kit on the Wish list :).

We're sitting in an anchorage on the south coast of Elba, no wind or cloud for the last few days, and none forecast for the next few. Beautiful scenery, 26 deg clear blue water, and a fabulous lobster meal last night. This seems pretty much the ultimate med cruise right now.

Great suff Nick. I saw your boat was out so wondered if you were on a trip. FWIW there is zero wind here in Antibes for last few days and today. Can't remeber so little wind for so long. Temp in the 30s. Was out yesterday with friends and came into dock in evening and I sat on the concrete edge of the dock with a drink after we tied up and nearly burnt my @rse becuase the concrete was so hot from the all-day sun. So you should have a very calm crossing when you return to base.

You were certainly right about Elba John, it's just stunning, and Porto Azurro is probably the nicest resort town I've ever been to, with safe anchorage just outside. We're now anchored off Marina di Campo on south coast, again a lovely anchorage just off the port, heading to Isola Del Giglio tomorrow, then Tuscan mainland. Tough life ain't it !

It sounds so wonderful :) you are so lucky to be there and Wow Lobster to boot, did you Dive for it yourself?

You guys are fuelling this passion to achieve this Dream of a series of Med Adventures sooner rather than later. We Cut a 40m Hedge row down to size yesterday, scratched and Beaten up as a result :( the late Night Jacuzzi eased the pain though :p ; and there you are living it up :) Bless you Heart.

In a bid to get out there and join you all Asap we are Auctioning off some of our Catalogue of TLD Domains. Two of which that should do well through Sedo ( We hope ) are StockMarketier.com and GamblerGambling.com . Some of the proceeds will go to Environmental and chosen Endangered Marine Species projects, got to do our bit. We are itching to be Down there Boating aboard our dream :). Do some diving and may be some of our own Marine research en route.

Please keep sending these lovely updates, you are all driving a real passion. Be it a little Put Put or something a little more luxurious we will get there :)

I am sure every one will love reading and in turn plan their own Mediterranean adventures :)

No wind in our part of Spain either.
On my own - SWMBO at home at the moment.
I came out with the mission of cleaning the boat - its taken me 10 days!!!
No pressure - just do a little then relax.
As a result, the boat is in "tip top" condition.
Cant seem to keep the beer in the fridge - it keeps vanishing!!
Been out on the local lagoon overnight on my own.
Sunday lunch was fresh sardines in one of the local beach bars - again too much beer.

Several yachties recently arrived back from the islands - again no wind - flat seas so they were motoring all the way.

I've decided I like this - living on the boat with no particular aim - pottering - no particular cruising mission - YET.

The next trip might be in the autumn - across to Mallorca - maybe - who knows??

This is Med life and I like it.

Good stuff Nick. you back in SofF next weekend?

For your mainlandtrip, not knowing how far north/south you wanna go and I'm not an old hand of that coast, but Porto Venere is beautiful, and if arriving from the south the run in is beautiful at sunset. I also like Porotfino though it's a rolly old port. Generally on tha coast there are some long stretchs of cliffs with no bays or beaches though

Had a fab day yesterday just between the Lerins islands. Scorching here!

exactly my thought Mike,
just "be" on the boat, thats all we need,
going out is a bonus,


by the way,
can you handle JW completely on your own ?
with help from the harbour staff when mooring I assume.

after 4weeks practice, we manage quite well, Elly and myself,
but all alone, not yet ready for that,
especially not in windy conditions as some area's in SOF suffer from.

O yes, and after 4weeks continiously on the boat, its hard to get at work :)
