Your ideal 36-40ft Transat/Circumnav Boat..

For what it is worth I got a Seastream for a circumnavigation because:

Cutter rig
360 windows for light and internal navigation
Heavy displacement
Semi long keel for directional stability
Sealed bulkheads in bow
Lloyds certified
Massive cockpit
Masses of storage
Big engine bay for watermaker, genset and any other gubbins you want.
Workshop space

What I would have liked but had to compromise on:

Swing / lifting keel like on an Ovni, Boreal or Koopmans
Centre Cockpit
Aluminium Hull

We have a Trintella 44 for long term ocean sailing but predominantly sailing in warm climate.
By comparison we have:

Cutter rig internal forestay being fitted now
flush decks and small windows but 10 opening portlights in addition to deck hatches so low heat gain from sun but lots of ventilation and ventilated ceiling void in saloon via dorades to keep heat gain down.
Heavy displacement- 19 tonnes on scales when lifted out with possessions, fuel and water onboard
Large sail area and ketch rigged for easy handling.
large 24v windlass that is truly on top of the job but with manual backup if it fails
7`2" draft for good windward sailing performance and skeg hung rudder for robustness.
slab reefing for simplicity (and no issue to use on deck with flat decks and large granny bars)
Folding three blade prop to assist light wind sailing.
Sealed bulkhead in bow
Lloyds certified 100A1
large safe centre cockpit where winches can be reached from helm so easy to single hand.
Masses of storage
Big engine room with 4.4litre Perkins at 86hp. Genset with 130 litre/hr watermaker, work bench with vice.

I do like Seastreams as well. They were on my shortlist at one point but we opted for the Trintella instead

For those challenged by the lack of accumulation of the green paper stuff

There are steel circumnavition capable sailboats here for 12000- pounds

Google Brent Swain steel sailboats

Saw one in Lund BC at Jacks Boatyard being cleaned ready for sale, but another had been sold for more than twice that.
