Your dream boat, money no object ????????

The question was.."dream boat! ..AND "Money no object"
If money were no object..berthing/running/maintainance costs would not be an issue.
Partridge would not be in the uk and would not be the ONLY boat I'd own

Last I knew Partridge wasn't in the UK. And neither is Marigold now. Both in the Med. I just hope they've had the forethought to paint Marigold white, because she'll cook with black topsides.


Money no object? I quite like the look of Lulworth at the moment. And she's for sale. I'll have to speak with my bank manager....

....but the Outremer is much easier to sail, short-handed ( two-up ), long distances. And is every bit as sea-capable.

But I'd buy her a new engine, make a couple of small changes to the accomodation and a slight adjustment to the rig.

That really would be it. She's big enough to go wherever I want to go, small enough to manage singlehanded, comfortable below, docile and well mannered.

I looked at "Merrymaid" when she was in Heybridge Basin and came to the opposite conclusion! I had thought, before I ever saw one of the Big Class in the round, that one would be my dream boat, but, when I saw her, I was simply horrified by the idea of needing a crew of twenty-odd for an afternoon sail.
 
Having seen Casina Royale a couple of weeks ago, I fell in love with the Spirit 54. I think it would have to be up there in my dream list.
 
I always thought it would be something else to own a genuine Colin Archer...

absolutely..... they are launched just outside our marina.... and every time I see one, I fall in love with them all over again...... I cannot believe there is a boat being made at present (other than perhaps one-offs) that can even get close to the Spirit in terms of grace and style....

When I was a very wee lad I had the privelidge of going sailing on that Colin Archer.

Lovely photo of RS 14! Wonderful sea boats for sure.

'Andreas Aarro' (one of her sister ships) used to live here in Barbados in the 1970's - still a very elegant vessel, despite having a wheelhouse plonked on the stern. She was in rather poor condition though, and was lost in a hurricane in 1979 - she was washed up on the beach in Carlisle Bay, and was torched. Very sad.
 
Spirits are absolutely gorgeous. And so they should be at that price! But as this is a 'money no object' thread, who cares?
