You know those pontoons opposite the folly......?

We just tunred up on spec. Went onto the mid river pontoons and asked the moorings control/harbour master bloke who also does the ferry service (VHF Ch 72)if I could raft on the Aquastar that was there.

He said they were just leaving so i could come on after they had gone. I suspect to get on at a weekend booking a slot would be advisable. You pay the ame chap you pay for the mid river pontoons

They have obviously recovered from there £5000 fine for unhygenic kitchens, then - about 4 years ago, IIRC.

I think I've been there twice. Last time would have been August 2008. Had a perfectly ok meal in the garden. Got stung by a wasp!

Thanks

Thanks for all the helpful replies.

One of the reasons for wanting shore power was to assist in breakfast making (wifey must have toast!). I, too, did not realise the Folly did breakfasts so the non-powered mid river pontoons have just gone up the possiblity league but the walk ashore ones with power are top of the list. I'll have to find out how easy it is to book them.

You mean The Bugle in Yarmouth, yes? The one in Hamble is fine! :) I have had a couple of the worst pub meals I've ever eaten in the Y'mouth Bugle, but maybe it's improved and I should give it another chance.

Yes, I was meaning Yarmouth. We've found both Bugles to be fine.
