Tanker leaves refinery jetty, wind blowing it tits off, tug acting as hand brake, tanker gives 5 blasts on her whistle, Harbour Master turns back to Shepard a numbnuts out of the way, I can't believe that they still believe the fairy story of power gives way to sail.

There's nothing to get Pete excited, that boat just shouldn't have been there, motor, jetski, hoovercraft,whatever, you're not allowed to cut across the bow of an escorted ship, end of. either pass before HM or astern of the tug not between the two, a much easier option is to stay outside the reds and greens, then the situation would never have occurred.

Chill dude, it's foul weather, cold wet, constant spray on the guys specs and seriously windy.
We are nice and warm indoors looking at a photo taken from a beach but for the guy/guys on the sailing boat it would feel like survival conditions , thats why power is supposed to give way to sail, its not rocket science, show these guys some respect for being out there, no harm done, they timed their manoeuvre well .

It looks like the HM chasing them had a much closer squeak. Almost certainly motorsailing with just the main up, you don't get much control from just the main, so most boats that have dropped the jib will be motorsailing into the wind. Still shouldn't be there of course, unless the ship is being pulled backwards by the tug, in which case it would be the safest place to cross.

If Daka had posted the pics, that's what I would think had happened.

Well it was Nouveau a November or two ago, think tesco's overbought and are now selling it as vintage , it was most likely very palatable at some point in its life, possibly before fermentation .............I didnt buy it, just helped drink it
