The fine megayot Eclipse is anchored out here in the carib, in Simpson's Bay in st martin... and it's been in exactly the same spot for several weeks. A mile out of the bay, they tootle in on the tender as required. So instead of expensively staying on a dock, they just hang out at anchor, not docking and not going anywhere at all. Of course, I thoroughly approve of such savings to an extent, although I wonder if there is an ulterior motive in staying so far off shore, out of range of any anti-ruskie types? Either that, or it's simply saving a few (thousand) quid in dock fees? After all, where there's rouble there's mouck...

I half remember to have read somewhere that when B+V built Eclipse, one of the requests they had to comply with was a rather sophisticated, military grade defense system.
It would take a pretty skilled team of anti-ruskies to effectively attack that ship, methink. More likely to be just for privacy reasons, at a guess...

ah, tcm, the tender is only the diversion. Have you not seen the on-board submarine creeping in at night to replenish the crisps and pickled onions ?

What's the tender, a 50' sunseeker?

Out on the new boat, how's it going?

Borrowed from wiki....

The Eclipse travels to St. Martin in the Caribbean each winter to pick up passengers who fly in to St. Martin's airport. The yacht then travels to Abramovich's home on nearby St. Barth's.
