I have been looking into switching from my MASMovil sim to Yoigo as they currently have an offer on of €9 per month plus vat for 1GB of data and calls at 2c a minute.

I used to have a Yoigo sim a few years ago and it worked fine, and I was wondering if anyone has more up to date experience of using them here in Spain?

In my opinion, the Carrefour deal is better. 1 Euro a day but only on the days that you use it (subject to a minimum 3 days use a month) For your 1 Euro you get 100Mb a day at full speed then it drops to 128Kb/sec for anything above the 100Mb. Never cuts you off completely. Ideal for casual use.

I use a Carrefour SIM in my Android phone, and connect using it as a WAP. Costs 50c on days when you use it, no limit but speed drops after 20MB. In reality, the speed isn´t great even for the first 20MB, but ok for email and weather forecasts.

Carrefour won´t take British credit cards - not mine anyway - by phone or on their web site. So topping up requires finding a Carrefour, Dia or Schleker store.

Just an update on this for others who may be interested. I have got myself a Yoigo sim - currently its €9 per month for 1GB of data. Its a monthly contract but it can be cancelled at any time and so far it seems to be working well.

We've been using a YOIGO dongle for internet etc for the last year- no problems at all. Very easy to top up either on-line or in store.
