Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, ‘cause you have run aground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're stuck in Newtown
There's no need to be unhappy.
Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when the wind doesn’t blow.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.
It's fun to stay at the R-Y-A.
It's fun to stay at the R-Y-A.
They have everything for young men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the bores ...
It's fun to stay at the R-Y-A.
It's fun to stay at the R-Y-A.
You can claim right of way, you can call out “I’m racing”,
You will find the responses are bracing ...
Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you've got to know this one thing!
No man does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the RYA,
They will tighten up your forestay /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.
It's fun to stay …………
Young man, I was once in your shoes.
I was sad ‘cause my flag wasn’t blue.
I felt no man cared if I were afloat.
I felt the whole world had a boat ...
That's when someone came up to me,
And said, young man, you are taking the pee.
There’s a way you can get qualified faster.
With a Zero-to-Hero Yachtmaster.
With all these songs and poems I can only assume that it is a quiet day in the world of other people's work. Like the songs 'tho /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Time for a new game. Match the Forumite to the face:
I seem to recall seeing a photo of Chris Enstone in Yachting Monthy and noting that, like all men of distinction and class, he sported a pair of glasses. So, he must be the guy with the screwdriver in his mouth.
As for the Red Indian, he looks quite small, is from a far flung outpost of the Empire and talks in an incomprehensible language known only to a few of his fellow countryman. He also wears what looks like bits of dead animal on his head. Reminds me of someone, but I can't think who.............
Nice to see tcm in his black Skipper's cap.
PS: I'm the guy with the beard and the massive helmet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
the back row starting from left:
No1: chentleman's cruise will have ebespacher
No2 (in helmet) ah'm aboot tae switch it oan!!
No3 (in porkpie hat) ooo errr
No4 (wearing capt's bunnet) shoyte! anither melfort fookup; ah'm covered in soot, again
That's very kind of you, but as many here know I'm a technoklutz and would know what to do with the screwdriver. Now if it was a kebab skewer that would be me! I'm assuming that the one in the cowboy hat is the Yachtmaster...
walks off stage to the sound of gently jingling spurs
