YM runs a regular feature on 'Buying second hand'. This month it featured a lucky couple upgrading their existing boat to take in two sets of diving gear and a saloon view of more than the sky. The three boats they considered, and took a Surveyor along to check out, were all jolly nice but there was a bit of a problem (unless I missed something) - all of them were brand spanking new. Is it a bit like buying pre-registered cars (technically used and cheaper but actually new) or just an example of stretching the secondhand editorial brief a bit too far so that advertising boat manufacturers can get a bit more exposure? I quite liked the idea of a feature about a Surveyor and a punter pouring over a used boat since it shows you what can go wrong and what to look out for. Seems the model has changed a bit now..
