I am thinking about re-doing my Yacht Master theory as I did not finish off my home work from the last time I did the course a few years ago. I am wondering about doing it again but by correspondence as this fits in very well with my limited spare time, has anyone here done it this way and if so what did you think? any recomendations as to who to use, any info would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Stephen

Did it with NMCS a few years ago. I found them very good with extremely prompt and constructive feedback on coursework

Also recommend them. Sue is indeed a great instructor, and the downloadable modules, complete with graphics are amongst the best course materials I've seen

I did mine last year with Harbour Lights. It was excellent, and I got through the lot in about 3 months, working a couple of evenings a week, with no problems at all. I think it would probably be hard to do it that way if you last did any maths at school, and never got the hang of it then.

Chichester Maritime - also a Sue tutor - is brilliant.
I am doing it at the moment. Really well designed and interesting course, very quick feedback, very thorough (exhausting!).
It's an absolute eye opener after the very poor quality local authority course we did last year.

Enjoy.

I'd agree with the comments regarding NMCS. I opted for their cheaper course option - you mark your own course work / assesments but, if I remember, can still call in for help if needed. Worked well for me and saved a few bob as well!
