Not having found the time or place to commence with my Yacht Master Theory, I finally embarked on a correspondence course while still working on board a MY in Italy. While it possibly takes a little longer to complete than the usual one week courses, the absence of a tutor requires a more engaging approach, which I found most effective in assimilating the subject matter. I had been told by a friend about Chichester Maritime Academy, and even though my first language is not English and I am no computer boffin, I found the material superbly well presented, the course well structured, the support exceeding my expectations and the projected targets, and in all had great fun in my own time and pace to get real well acquainted with the many components of this course. The cost too is substantially less than the classroom courses and I hope that my posting may be helpful to anyone in a similar situation as myself.
