I remembered I had this .

Does not run on paraffin but connects directly to a Camping Gaz bottle without a regulator

A Tilley Talisman - probably the best two burner and grill camping stove ever.

Parents used one for years when we were kids.

The problem now is that the hoses have mostly perished and it's very difficult to make up replacements.

We had one for many years, camping initially and later as an emergency cooker for power cuts, sadly the hose finally split, and we scrapped it.

My one belonged to the outlaws.

It's had very little use but I guess it must be getting on for 40 years old so if the hose cannot be replaced its junk. Pity.

I am sure some one could make a new hose using the existing fittings. Some like BES or Socal may already have then in stock. After all the gas pressure is not very compared to hydraulics just a different type of hose to comply with your local regs.

Hi if you contact Tilley Int they can probably still supply a new pipe. I get spares for all my antique tilley lamp collection from them no problem. They are on the net. Cheers Chris

Thanks.
They seem to be only concerned with Tilley lantern spares but it might be worth enquiring.

There have been extensive discussions about these stoves on the UK Campsite forums. The general conclusion was that any hoses will be iffy by now (especially as running at bottle pressure) and no-one seemed able to transfer the fittings to a new hose. Someone did manage to contrive a replacement, obviously using orange HP hose, using about 3 different fittings! I can't find the details though.

Seems quite dangerous, running the hose on full bottle pressure.
I would rather not have it on my boat...
Quite normal for a hose to operate at full bottle pressure. It does if the regulator is bulk-head mounted.

Nobody is considering using it on a boat ! It would have to be located within the gas locker so not really practical.

Not this particular one but we did at one time have a high pressure 2 burner Tilley "Twinfold" stove when we were camping. We used that for quite a few years.
