Hi,
I have an Eberspacher D2 (bought off ebay) with full loom including the 1 hour timer which I'd like to bypass.

I have looked for this info in the posts here, and googled and checked out the wiring diagrams on the Eberspacher site, but mine doesn't seem to be the same as all the other variants

The 4 pin timer socket on the loom has two thin yellow wires and two thin brown wires attached.
One of the yellow wires goes to the rheostat pin 6, the other goes to the heater.
One of the brown wires goes to the rheostat pin 3, the other goes to the heater.

The E3348 60 Minute Timer unit has red and orange wires (marked PWR and NO on the pcb), connected together at the plug going to the thin yellow going to the heater, and a purple (marked COM on the timer pcb) going to the yellow to the rheostat pin 6.
A black wire from the timer (marked GND on the pcb) goes to the brown to the heater and a brown from the timer (marked TRIG on the pcb) goes to the brown on the rheostat pin 3.

Now looking at that, I would think that linking the two yellows together at the socket, without the timer plugged in, would bypass the timer, but nothing happens when I turn the rheostat on (no green light on the knob).
I've also tried linking the two yellows together with the timer plugged in - it fires up fine when the rheostat is turned on, but shuts down after an hour

Has anyone come across this particular variation, and has any suggestions?

i was looking at timer removal several years ago and accumulated several bits of info at the time. It didnt help me but maybe it helps you?

For the rheostat connection ....The lead that goes to terminal 6 ( the end one) It should be yellow but I think the one hour timer changes this to purple. Snip the yellow before the black box, snip the purple after the black box - combine the two and presto you should be working. The other leads going to the black box are not required.

best of luck
