I'm trying to remove some of the connectors on the ECU cable.
The connector is a Junior Power Timer AMP 929504-6.
The offical extractor tool is:
Genuine TE Connectivity Extraction Tool - Part No. 1-1579007-6 7437244858860 | eBay
The best price I can find is £67.25, inc VAT and delivery.
That is a lot of money for a simple tool that I'll have litttle use for in the long term.
Looking at the connector it is clear that it has been hacked (damage to the plastic seperators between the connacts) to get the glow pin and pump connections out.

extractors I've tried

connector
I've tried all the extractors in the top photo, and none of them work.
The instruction for the mega expensive tool is to push the wire in, to disenguage the the barbs, then slide the forks of the tool in, to depress the barbs so the contact can be removed.
The forks on the extractors I have aren't strong enough to depress the barbs, the forks simply bend outwards.
I'm going to have another go at removing the contact for the over temperature sensor this evening.
In the mean time, has anyone had any experience of removing the contacts from an Eberspacher Plug?
What I expected to be a simple task of replacing the over temperature sensor, is turning out to be a long drawnout task.
