Yet another battery question

I need 3 leisure batteries that go under a bunk my kids sleep on so I am concerned that they are as safe as possible.
Burden recommend me AGM batteries (Rolls R12 80 amp) to replace 3 knackered Powermax 85 amp FLA batteries.

The problem is that even with discount they are £160 each. So the question is do I need to spend so much to get safe efficient batteries in this situation.

you don't ned agm batteries, go for any sealed lesiure batterythat will fit in the space.

I agree, absolutely no need for AGM to be safe, also no need to be sealed, although it's more common that they are.

We have 4 x vented lead acid under the bunk for around 12 years with no problem. The locker is vented though.

I have used THESE from Alpha Batteries for several years and will use them again for replacements.
