Hi been to the boat should i take it off and sand on pontoon ,and what glue to use when refiting is ther a good youtube to watch

i need help do i sand first or take out caulking first are there any old threads that can help or you tube vids

You might be able to patch it up a bit if that is all you are looking for but by the time it gets to the stage of the plugs being too thin it is normally as I stated above. You need to strip the whole lot off, repair the sub deck or replace. Seal the sub deck with epoxy +/- glass fibre and then if the old teak still has some life left glue it back down and recall. It is a big job. It needs done on my current boat but so far I have got by with patching bits as I put off the inevitable. Sikaflex do the appropriate glues and caulks, other brands available. The last time I looked they also had instruction leaflets for doing the job. Also the Gougeon Brothers of West System epoxy fame have a book that is free on their website (google it) which describes an epoxy only method which works if the teak is just a thin veneer. Youtube may have videos which will be available if you search their site.
