I have a yeoman plotter there are 2 leads one is a 12v power supply the other I assume is for a gps. The second lead has a socket on the end which appears compatible to my handheld Garmin 60 GPS but it the yeoman doesn’t seem to recognise it
Am I doing something wrong .?

A couple of possibles;
Out of the box, AFAIK, Yeomans come with bare wire connections, so whoever fitted your connector, assuming it wasn't you, might not have matched the GPS60 pin connections.
Another is that the default output of a Garmin GPS isn't NMEA183 which the Yeoman needs. That has to be set in the menu.
Further thought, as your Garmin is hand-held, there might be no common -ve. between GPS data and Yeoman power supply.

I found this info in my Yeoman book.
Wire colour code for the Yeoman data cable.
Red- 12v+
Black 12v-
White NMEA in+
Blue NMEA in-
Green NMEA out+
Note that you can supply 12v to the Yeoman from the GPS, if you want to.
I'm afraid I'm not sure about the return line for NMEA out - there is a note in my Yeoman book that says it goes back to 12-, but there is also a sheet that seems to say it goes to the blue wire. This might be more logical, since it implies a common signal return. I don't bother with uploading waypoints - indeed not all Yoman plotters can do it - so I haven't investigated further.

Ok so a quick update the lead which was purchased from precision navigation has mounded plugs on both ends. One for the Garmin 60 gps andtne other for the yeoman.
In the settings for the gps are the following choices
Garmin
Garmin dgps
Nmea/in Nmea/out
Text out
Rtcm in
Rtcm in nmea out
Rtcm in/text out
None
H
Any ideas which one I should select

I've no experience of the Sport, only the Pro, but I see from the manual that the basic model also comes with bare wires. Are you sure that the connections onto those plotter wires have been made correctly?
