Yellow buoy marker - Henley

Possible to put and appeal out on your website for any reports firsthand or otherwise about the problem.
Might be able to track down other boats who have had problems but not bothered to report it.

Sounds to me as if your 'incident' was very different to the earlier one I investigated. You have now told me that whatever you struck with your prop was about 2 meters away from the bank. The one I investigated was 'bank side' - I.e. Within a couple of feet of the bank.
you are now also muddying the waters by resurrecting an earlier thread relating to yellow buoy which was nowhere near the renewed camp shedding.
Need to get facts and precise location right or you will get nowhere.

With all due respect it was by the new campshedding as was said, they obviously didnt look beyond the end of their noses. Did they just walk along the bank or actually prod with a boathook from a boat. And we are still waiting for responses from the supposed "manager" on twitter. Seems he is more PR/backslapper than "manager". Remind me what he has actually achieved again?

Whilst moored at Henley earlier this week I walked down and inspected the area where the camp shedding has been replaced. The water was fairly clear and I could see no evidence of recent rubble or other fresh deposits. I spoke at length with one of the park employees who was aware of the complaints. I also took quite a few photographs which I have yet to process but which should show the varying nature of the bank side bed and historical obstructions extending up to two feet or so from the bank.
My conclusion was that I could see no evidence of a new hazard here but boaters need to be cautious when mooring and ensure there is adequate depth for their boat. The depth alongside in the stretch upstream from the bandstand is no more than a metre or so close to the bank and normal river levels are stated as being maintained within the range +3" to -6" so can vary significantly. The whole stretch was occupied by moored craft the night I was there,
Rather a fatuous statement as there is clearly an issue. Did you see the boats try and leave the next morning? What type of boats were they? Did they have twin outdrives or a single shaft?
Auntyrinum has clearly seen the obstruction. More than one craft has hit the obstruction. Just because you say you haven't seen anything does that mean the matter is closed? Or is yours the only opinion that counts?

The matter is certainly not closed as far as I am concerned, my latest email to the parks department was only yesterday.
if any boaters here are in that location perhaps they could investigate further?
