I was there earlier today picking up my new toy (Electra 8 ball....nice) what a wonderful sunny day it was..

From memory they used to be private floating caravan type tings ie small flats but I have no idea what they are now, try the mobo forum it will be answered in a flash!

We call them the Wendy Houses... they are upmarket beach huts. The one I once visited had a small kitchenette and a mezanine "bedroom" so you can stay overnight.

Woow! Thanks for that! I was pondering what they were while sitting in the worlds best weatherspoons, what a view! :O

Some are privately owned (expensive) but, at least when I was berthed there, some of those on the central pontoon where the marina office is were being used to house DHSS people because of shortage of housing in the town. (whoops City) Some of the flats ashore overlooking the marina are used as temporary housing for immigrants. One of the pontoon places and I 'aint saying which, was being used by a ..err ..working girl..She could have been doing private Tarot readings of course for lots of customers..:D

What was her ceiling like????:D:D

:D :D. I was on pontoon 17 and had a grandstand view of the clientele but the lady close up in daylight, showed signs of needing drydocking and a complete refit, so definitely one to give a wide berth..:D

Do you, by any chance, read the Daily Mail?

Saw one in the marina estate agents the other day... 150,000, cash only!!!

Struth. Certainly not worth anything like that as they float on a concrete barge. Their lifespan can't be that long.

I had a friend who used to rent one up to a couple of years ago. Great 'pad' with a really nice westerly outlook on the balcony. Inside they were quite nice; cozy with the lounge having a high ceiling. The sleeping area is a mezzanine above the galley and bathroom, accessed up some steep steps.

In the winter it could get a bit rough as the wind moved the 'barge', bashing it against the piles.

I'm sure he mentioned that the going rate was around £50k. ISTR his rent was around £550/month.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Brighton Marina has got the worst case of flatulence I have ever seen. Not the people but the marina itself!
At low water bubbles pop up everywhere. It gurgles and gulps continually.
I would hate to hazzard a guess what causes this.

No. Look back through your old posts to when you were asking questions about "Can I live in Brighton Marina?".."What's Brighton like?"..Do the marina staff accept live-a-boards"...If you were a local you wouldn't need to read the Daily Mail.....
