YBW Poll - Which female sailor has inspired you the most?

Eric Hiscock wrote that the best way to get a good crew was to marry one. I think he chose well with his Susan.

+1:encouragement:

BUT Dame Ellen is well up there too, chatted with her for some time at aPoole book signing and proud to have THREE signed copies of her book, one for home, one for the boat and a spare I'm looking at above my desk right now, Will have pride of place too on our next boat even though most likely to be a mobo..

I always fancied Claire FRances too having chatted with her at Poole QUAY One winter's night when she had Robertson's Golly

What about Princess Anne? Could be living a life of luxury, laziness and comfort but still gets out there and roughs it around the West of Scotland.
Ellen McArthur, Jeanne Socrates, Beryl Smeaton, all, I think, amazing. But a Royal Princess?
That's my kind of girl.

What is so inspirational about that, hundreds of us do the same thing for pleasure, a lot more often and in less comfort.
Having said that if you have to have royalty, her and her big sister have upheld the long outdated concept quite well.

AAaaaah, I get it now, you were being ironic?
