ybdsa contract

Might be a dumb question, but what is a 'ybdsa contract'?

I think he means ABYA. (Which is part of the YBDSA)

Morgana is this good news? Did my tips work their magic for you?

I have an ABYA contract but can't let you have it because you are not a paid up and accredited ABYA broker (Like me :))

But I may have something similar you can use. I have a check list for whole process you can borrow too.
PM or email me.

There is a similar and perfectly adequate model contract (and BofS) on the RYA site as a downloadable document, but probably members only.

I've found a contract now, but thanks for all the offers anyway.

And yes Jon, its good news (subject to the contract being signed and deposit arriving anyway!)

A deal we're happy with, and what seems to be a keen buyer...

Many thanks for your good advice, it was much appreciated, and certainly didn't do any harm!!!

The buyer has got themself a great boat for the money as well.

Check list PM'd.

Neil just got your PM.

RING ME IMMEDIATELY!!!

You are right that is not normal procedure that is usually classic scam procedure.

You must talk to me asap.

Offer to buy Boat unseen, no deposit, and payment by bankers draft is normal procedure for a scam. The bankers draft turns out to be fraudulent or stolen and can be reversed at a much later date by the bank. Boat is long gone by then. The other thing to watch out for is that there will be some sort of overpayment on the draft which you then return from your own funds.

Is he from over seas too?

You must tread very carefully here. It could be legit but offer unseen and bankers draft payment with no deposit is a major, major red flag.

If you go ahead.

GET A PASSPORT COPY FIRST

GET A DEPOSIT.

INSIST on electronic transfer.

Do not entertain ANY ideas of overpayment.

Go to your bank explain the situation and that you require a letter from them saying the bankers draft can not be reversed for ANY reason.
